Building Community Through Community College
Thanks to small classroom settings, FastForward students build connections with their instructors and classmates while receiving hands-on instruction.
“Not only do you gain an understanding of the trade through FastForward, you also are able to create bonds and friendships with your classmates and build a professional network along the way,” said Harry Ree Pannell III, plumbing and HVAC student at Central Virginia Community College.
A Straight Shot to Success
Because FastForward training programs are tailored to the needs of local employers, most students have little to no trouble obtaining a stable job in their desired industry.
“It’s amazing to be able to just walk out into the field and start my career without any debt,” said Ian Goines, industrial maintenance student at Wytheville Community College. “Companies like Pepsi and Hitachi are asking for people like us when we come out of college.”
A Career Worth Bragging About
By enrolling in a FastForward program, you’ll learn skills that will set you up for a stable, rewarding career that can support you and your family for years to come.
“I would tell all my friends that I had a wonderful experience with the FastForward program and what it’s done for me and how it’s changed my life,” said Kristie Kaypol, CNA graduate from Mountain Empire Community College. “It’s opened more job opportunities for me, and I’m able to help others.”
Education That Fits Your Life
Virginia’s Community Colleges understands that life doesn’t pause for your goals. That’s why most FastForward programs offer flexible scheduling, allowing you to balance work, family and education.
“All of my classes are half-flex or hybrid, so it makes it really flexible if I can’t get here because of my kids,” said Alexa Cook, criminal justice student at Mountain Gateway Community College. “I can jump on my computer and log into the Zoom meeting, which has been really helpful.”
