Workforce Credential Grant (WCG) This course introduces basic medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, components of health care delivery and clinical laboratory structure. It is designed to teach techniques of specimen collection, specimen handling, and patient interactions necessary in the profession of Phlebotomy. Proper methods for the collection, processing and distribution of laboratory specimens according to established procedures will be covered by the course with the emphasis on the phlebotomy techniques as well as universal precautions, legal and ethical behaviors and applicable quality control procedures. This course teaches care of older patients with emphasis on the social, emotional and spiritual needs. Covers procedures; communication and interpersonal relations; observation, charting and reporting; safety and infection control; anatomy and physiology; personal care, nutrition and patient feeding; death and dying. This course enables the student to become eligible to take the national certification exam for certified nurse aide. This course also includes supervised practice in a setting appropriate for Nurse Aide functioning. Hands on skills training in clinical setting. Read Full Course Description

Workforce Credential Grant (WCG) Eligible – Using curriculum from the National Center for Construction Education and Research, the Power Line Worker curriculum addresses the fundamental aspects of power line work to ensure workers maintain safety for the both the public and electrical crews. The Power Industry Fundamentals curriculum consists of NCCER’s basic construction skills course, Core: Introductory Craft Skills and newly developed introductory modules on the power industry. It sets the stage for students entering into the electrical energy production field. It describes the many ways in which electricity can be produced, the economics involved in energy production and the environmental impacts of distributing electrical power.
