Industry Spotlight: Business and Customer Service

Have you ever been told, “You’re a people person?” Are you able to spark up a conversation with almost anyone you meet? Then a career in the Business and Customer Service industry may be a good fit for you.

Or maybe you like to be behind the scenes, orchestrating the in’s and out’s of an organization – making sure everyone has what they need to succeed (whether that be information on a project, or the insurance and benefits they need to get through life). Then a career in the Business and Customer Service industry is also a fit for you.

What is the Business and Customer Service industry?

The Business and Customer Service industry offers a wide-range of careers suited for the talkative extroverts – and shy introverts – alike. Careers in this field can involve little to no training, like the food service industry, and can go all the way up the corporate ladder to specialists, managers and directors.

Two big career fields that FastForward covers are human resources and insurance. Almost every major company or organization has to deal with these two fields, and because these fields require so much personal interaction, we don’t think these jobs are being automated any time soon.

What kind of positions are available, and how much can I make?

Here’s a select list of jobs you can get in the Business and Customer Service field. Salary information listed is the average annual salary according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
